What we do as Food Waste Free United

Within Food Waste Free United, food businesses from the entire supply chain, knowledge institutions, national and local governments, and NGOs collaborate and share their expertise for one common goal: halving food waste by 2030 (as compared to 2015).

Annual overview 2023 of the foundation Food Waste Free United in the Netherlands.

We work using four lines of action

  1. Monitoring together

In collaboration with Wageningen University & Research, we help an increasing number of businesses and sectors to measure and monitor their waste streams, thus giving them the means to take goal-oriented action to prevent food loss.

  2. Together with businesses and organisations

Food Waste Free United connects and activates all links in the food supply chain, boosts collaborations, stimulates innovations, and shares knowledge.

  3. Together with consumers

With impactful campaigns, together with the Netherlands Nutrition Centre (Voedingscentrum), we inspire consumers to buy, cook and preserve their food waste-free.

  4. Changing the rules together

We contribute to changing obstructive laws and rules, to make running a circular and waste-free business the most attractive option.

We do this together with our stakeholders and key supporters

United as a team, we make an impact

Food Waste Free United consists of a team of people who – employed by us or seconded by our partners – work on the foundation’s goals with passion.
